Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a treatment modality for brain disorders. In 2008, FDA cleared it for treatment-resistant depression. Currently, it’s being studied for the treatment of ADHD, tinnitus, auditory hallucination, OCD, PTSD, anxiety, Parkinson’s disease, bipolar disorder, and other brain dysfunctions. For depression, TMS has been shown to cure patients who have not benefitted from pharmaceutical treatments. That is the reason why major health insurance companies are now approving TMS as part of their treatment options.
